Since change is in the air just about every which-way you turn, this might be the perfect time to take a moment to pause and take a fresh look at your approach to your future. I am hoping that you will think “smart” and do it from the standpoint of PREVENTION, whenever and wherever that is applicable. If you assess the quality of the various areas of your life, are there areas where, if you were given the chance to make different choices, the outcomes might be improved simply by thinking, planning, and acting PREVENTATIVELY in some way? You may be surprised at the results of that assessment.
Let’s pick the area of physical health. I have struggled much with many different areas of my health for so many years, and in the course of studying how to correct or improve these certain conditions, I learned about amazingly simple solutions. And I found myself thinking over and over multiple times, “If only someone had told me…,” or “If only I had known that one little thing,…” So, we can begin with first getting educated the best we can about the things we need to address, and then become pro-active with the creating of the future we want to have. The most prominent observation for me has been that people do not seem to take their physical health seriously enough until they are in some serious PAIN or have some real FEAR about what is going to happen to them next. Have you noticed that about yourself and others?
But I will be honest with you, just learning the facts or forming our opinions is only a part of the equation. And beginning to apply what we learn and putting it to use is all fine and good. However, what happened for me was that it was so easy to let the good habits slide, once I seemed to be feeling a little better (or alot better). It’s easy to return to the old habits, and before you know it, you lose ground and are back to square one. You will have your own journey, and have to make your own mistakes in order to learn the lessons, but hopefully you now can go into it a little more prepared, and therefore have a bit more success. Hopefully, alot more success. So, what I’d like you to take away from this is to know ahead of time, that once you make some positive changes, they need to become “habits” that become a part of you, if you are going to have long-term success. Realize that what put you where you were before can put you there again, if you repeat the same actions that created those results. Make sense?
So, do your best to think PREVENTION, PREVENTION, PREVENTION whenever and wherever you can, and you will see how much more smoothly things will go, and what better quality of life you will have. As long as we still have some freedoms of choice, do take advantage of that gift and be blessed.
